I love this ying-yang image of the goddess and Beat Pot.

This series is going some way towards addressing the apparent bias in ‘King of Sartar’.

I’ve always felt that as in Glorantha opposing cultures are not direct reflections or opposites, the ‘future history’ in KoS really needed a companion and contradictory Lunar version to counterbalance it.

The north/south versions of Argrath’s Saga provide that to a limited degree, but as the Appendices in the Guide illustrate, Argrath’s victory isn’t a constant theme, with the Lunars apparently retaking Boldhome at least once, and reaching the western coast of Genertela. Now I’m not saying the Lunars are the good guys, but an alternative vision would correspond to the fractured nature of reality in Glorantha where before Time, Yelm and Orlanth agreed all the pasts are real and valid.

It would be really interesting (but an awful lot of work) to see the Argrath Saga turned inside out…

BEST FRIENDS: Each Superhero has a Best Friend, and the next three rules only apply when the Superhero and Best Friend are stacked together.

This is really terrifying. It seems like Jar-Eel is devouring Beat-Pot, like a spider does a fly.

It’s neat how, as Beat-Pot becomes Illuminated (at least as the Lunars would call it) he gets a third eye of his own.

    And now
    The true story of ecstasy,
    It is told,
That the one, the almighty Jar-Heel,
Climbed to the top of Wintertop
    With her radiant slave Beat-Pot
And there they spent 10.000 years in union
    We call this first position
    Nasty….

Love it, respect to Hindus, extendable Lunars, Vishnu and um Talvin Singh, OK, track 5 Decca and Eclipse Track 6 for the soundtrack to this installment. Keep up the good work.

Prince of Sartar is an epic story of the Hero Wars set in Greg Stafford's Glorantha.
